DJ and The Dentist

A few weeks ago, DJ got to visit the dentist for the very first time. Luckily, our dentist is one of our neighborhood/church friends, so that greatly helped the situation. And, in all honesty, it went perfectly. He loved it. Like, begs to go back loved it. Here, I'll tell/show you:

This was this kid's face the whole time. He loved waiting in the waiting room, getting his teeth checked and counted, watching me get my teeth cleaned, talking to every single employee. It was so darling. From the moment we walked in till the moment we walked out, he had a huge grin on his face and everyone's attention.
DJ talked to our hygienist, Mandy, about how to brush teeth and even got to practice on a dragon with an anatomically awesome human mouth. Then Dr. Stratton came in and counted all his teeth and showed him how the cool light works. And we rode the chair up and down about a thousand times. And, true to DJ style, he chatted everyone's ear off the entire time.

Next I had my checkup, which DJ watched and even "helped" with for awhile (they were reading out numbers and he started repeating them). Then one of the cute receptionists offered to color with him, and off he and his lion went to hang out with them for awhile. They came back after a good amount of time, just in time to watch the hygienist polish my teeth, which he thought was fascinating.

This little superstar was giving everyone high fives (including a few other patients, I think!) and telling everyone how cool his visit had been and how the dentist's office was so awesome. With my permission, they even posted this cute picture on their Facebook page. Because, come on - that is adorable.

And smile he did. It was such a positive experience. He really did love it and has wanted to play dentist with me ever since. He is bummed that we can't go back for 6 months. But the good news is that he gets to see our dentist all the time in the neighborhood and at church, so that'll tide him over. He is a rockstar.
