Cabin 2015

Every year since the beginning of time (or at least the last 45 years), the Hall clan has descended upon Hebgen Lake to spend time with one another at the family cabin. I've been attending for 30 summers now, and DJ just finished his third trip there (his first trip was at 5 weeks old). This year, it was just me, DJ, my mom and dad, Danny, and Lindsey, but we still had a really good time. So prepare for picture overload!

I seriously think that part of heaven must look like the view from the swings atop the beach overlooking the lake. I mean, it has to; look at that.

My dad is such a hard worker. He felled 3 trees, repaired part of the dock, replaced some of the logs keeping the beach from eroding, fixed the vacuum, raked tons of seaweed off of the beach and out of the water. So when we had a rainy afternoon, he took a nap. No one deserves a nap quite like this guy.

My parents have some cool next door neighbors, and they came up for the day. Their 8 year old and DJ are good buddies and they built sandcastles and swam for hours.

There isn't a week that goes by as quickly as the week you spend at the cabin. But there isn't a week you'd love to go back and relive quite as much as the week you spend at the cabin. It's a long year waiting to go back, but it's heaven when you're there. I have been so blessed to have grandparents who, nearly 50 years ago, felt it a good idea to purchase this piece of paradise and have spent countless hours keeping it up so that all of us can take advantage of this perfect utopia.
