Sunday School Social

I've really been enjoying my new calling as a youth Sunday school teacher. I teach the oldest group of youth and they are so fun. We have a great time and they help me keep it real in there. Well, when I was pondering this new calling and how I wanted to be as a Sunday school teacher, I remembered previous Sunday school teachers I'd had. I particularly remembered Brother and Sister Richardson, both of whom were teachers of mine at various points throughout my youth. They had a tradition of inviting their classes over for a Christmas party every winter, and I loved that. So I decided I was going to be just like Mel and rock out a Christmas social for my lovelies. I ran it past them, and they loved the idea. It was such a good idea, in fact, that we ended up inviting all the youth classes over as well as the elders who are serving in our ward. We planned an ice cream party and decided to add a white elephant gift exchange. So one Sunday evening, I filled my apartment with 14 people, and we had an absolute blast!

Reese got a diaper with a candy bar in it for his white elephant gift. He seems to really be enjoying that chocolate!

The elders got diapers and a sippy cup. They are just so excited about their gifts!

Nathan got a bandana and decided to thug it for the rest of the party.

Deg got a dollar store "science kit" and decided he needed to try on the glasses to see if they'd really help him do science. What do you think?

We then decided to watch the Christmas episode of Kid History. If you're not familiar with Kid History, youtube that sucker. Pretty funny!

All in all, we had a great time, and they are already asking when we can have another party!
