Clarification

I feel the need to clarify my Obamacare post. Obviously, I'm not a fan. This isn't because I am uneducated and the dictates of Utah tell me to disagree. The reasons I disagree are thus:
* Congress passed a bill that 60-70% of the people (numbers depend on what poll you look at) didn't want to pass. I don't agree with congress passing any bill the people disagree with.
* The budget is too high. We are already trillions in debt and passing new job bills all the time (one's actually being debated in the house today). In these tough economic times, passing a bill such as this seems ill advised.
* I am against these provisional add-ons that were put in the bill just to get people to vote for them. I know, I know, it happens all the time. Well, I'm against it all the time. Vote for it if you like it, but don't if you don't. Plain and simple.
* I'm struggling with the concept of forced purchase of healthcare. I am a really big fan of capitalism and a free market, and I am having a hard time seeing the benefit of forcing people to purchase healthcare when it seems going for legislation based on insurance pricing and letting free market dictate the rest seems a more reasonable option.

I should also say the following: I agree with President Lincoln when he said, "You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time." There will be people who will be mad about any piece of legislation made by the Democrats. There are also people who would be mad about any bill passed by the Republicans. And while we can't seem to agree, or even get along, I would like to say that while there are those who don't agree with me (and a great many, I might add), I respect your opinion and understand that most of you agree with the legislation based on the facts that you adhere to. Each of us has our opinion firmly set and I do not expect that to change. Let's just agree to disagree, not hate each other, and move on with our lives.

To end this post, I will quote the very verbose Douglas Adams (taken from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) as he speaks about anyone who governs: "To summarize: it is a well known fact that those people who most want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it. To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job. To summarize the summary of the summary: people are a problem."

I was just going to tell you that you spelled Obama wrong in your health care post. I could leave lots of jokes about republicans and not spelling stuff right (insert Dan Quayle) but I won't. I can always agree to disagree. And I love your blog it is: Jessica Uncensored. And I am really enjoying getting to know you.
