Census

Dear US Government,

I got your postcard in the mail today. You know, the one that not-so-politely reminds me that it is against the law to not send back the census? See, I got your first letter that came before the census came that also told me I had to fill out the census. And, well, I'm not an idiot. So I took the three seconds it takes to fill out the census and I filled out the census and I sent it back. The day I got it. I'm sure you could have already known if you had someone/some computer program to check that kind of thing. You would have saved yourself a few cents in postage. And as I'm sure I'm not the only one who already sent back their census report, you could have saved yourself some postage there, too. In the end, that's probably a lot of postage you could have spent on, oh I don't know, the national debt rather than postage for a not-so-nice and completely unnecessary postcard. Just thought you should know, in case you wanted to do things differently in 2020 when you next take the census. Good luck with that, by the way.

Most sincerely,
Jessica
