Gilcrease Orchard

This last weekend, we went to the one and only orchard here in the Vegas valley. It's quite a drive over there, but we wanted to do something "fall" related. (so what if it's still nearly 100 degrees outside?)

When we got to the orchard, we were informed that they were out of apples, which was a bummer, but their vegetable garden was open. We took a hay ride over to the vegetable garden and picked green beans, sweet potatoes, and the tiniest zucchini you've ever seen. DJ loved all of it. He is actually really good at gardening - he picked half the green beans we collected and dug up a sweet potato by himself. And he loved running up and down the orchard and vegetable rows. I mean, who wouldn't! After harvesting our veggies, we headed to the food tent and got apple cider donuts, apple cider, and kettle corn. And they were delicious! And now I will show you pictures!

He found a very large, very bumpy pumpkin and hung out with it for a good few minutes. Once he realized that there was no way he was carrying that pumpkin out of there, we talked him into a cute little pumpkin, which I apparently don't have a picture of.

Three words: apple cider donuts. He was mad that the frosting got all over his hands, but he ate 5 of them, so it wasn't that he didn't like them.

And why would you eat apple cider donuts without drinking apple cider? Not an option!

Goodness, that kid is cute!

And he has the worst cheese face ever, which Deg tried to duplicate.

And he was so excited about the sweet potato he dug out of the ground by himself that he carried it around with him all day. All day. Like, we had to convince him that sweet potatoes don't need a bath at the end of the day.
