Well, Dam!

Ba ha ha ha! Dam jokes are just the best!

Living in Las Vegas means being half an hour or so from the Hoover Dam, and since Deg and I are trying to acclimate (read: see what there is to see), we went out to see it last weekend. It was really cool - that thing is huge! Watching how it was built (8 feet x 8 feet blocks of cement poured every hour of every day for 5 years - seriously 24/7) was really, really neat. If you ever come out this way and don't want to spend all your time at the strip, it's worth seeing.

They, like all good tourist spots, take your pic in front of a green screen and impose you on the dam.

Besties

Look at how they both have their eyes closed - awesome!

It was so windy, but we had a blast!

The dam, as seen from the bridge that crosses the Colorado. One side is in Nevada and the other is in Arizona, so we got to be in different states and different time
