Let's do something Vegas-y

So Deg and I finally bit the bullet and got Nevada drivers licenses and plates. After spending time at the DMV, everyone's favorite Saturday activity, we finally went and cleaned the apartment so we can get our deposit back. It was a day of things we had been putting off for way too long and desperately needed to get to.

To reward ourselves, we did our first Vegas-y thing as a family. We headed down to the strip to go to the giant Coca Cola store and M&M World. We started at M&M World, where 3 floors of tasty souvenirs and attractions awaited us. Deg got in line to get us some personalized M&M's (they said "DJ" and "D&J") and immediately had buyer's remorse. They were pricey, but it was fun anyway. We also got DJ a yellow M&M onesie that he'll grow into and that is probably super corny, but we were doing the tourist thing, so whatever. DJ and I got to see Red, one of the M&M's. DJ was in love - he kept stroking the M&M's cheek, eye, arm, and trying to hold its hand. It was adorable, and there were a few workers who stopped what they were doing to coo at him and how cute he was being with the giant candy. As if the kid wasn't adorable enough already!
Look how much he loves candy already! My work is done here.

Then we headed to Coke World, and all my dreams come true. I love me a Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi, but there's something about a Coke that is magical. I kept myself under control and only got 2 glass bottles of Diet Coke and a onesie for the Deej. We also got a picture with the Coke polar bear. DJ didn't care so much for the bear, but he wasn't upset by him either. He just wasn't as cool as a giant piece of chocolate! He was, however, very interested in touching every glass bottle/jar/glass in the establishment, so that was fun for us. Nothing broke, but we had to have hawk eyes on him the whole time. I kept thinking, "Dude! You are only 6 months old! I am in trouble once you learn to walk!"
Can you imagine wearing that costume? How would you see anything?!

All in all, it was pretty laid back and nothing too terribly exciting, but it was a fun way to spend the afternoon. Plus, now we can say we've done something Vegas-y! When in Rome, right?
