DJ is napping (finally - that kid hates naps) and I'm ready to blog!
So, moving. Yeah. That happened. The first day turned out to be a much later start than we wanted - we didn't pull out until 6 in the evening. Ordinarily, we wouldn't have left, but we didn't know how long the drive would take with a wee little one, so we decided we'd just go as far as we could and then pull over and get a hotel. We made it about 4 hours before DJ freaked out (that was our signal that it was time to be done for the day), so we found a cheap (and I do mean cheap) motel, got a bit of sleep, and started again early the next day. Then we drove for 3 straight days, stopping each night when DJ couldn't take it anymore. Our drive took us through Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma (aka Toll-klahoma), Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and finally, Nevada. There's not much to tell, other than that squeezing 3 people in the front of a U-Haul and hanging out in there for 3 1/2 days is no fun. Oh, and DJ had a blowout that got all over me so we both had to do a costume change on the side of the freeway in Texas (read: we both got naked in Texas - woo woo). We did get some nice pics, though. Let me show you the drive.

| One last look at the apartment in Indiana. It's been a good 3 years here. |
| All loaded up and ready to go. I guess this is really happening. |
| In a daze from all the driving. Can't blame him. |
| Kentucky, you sure were beautiful. |
| Misery! Uh, I mean... Missouri! By the way, I think we drove through Missouri for 6 straight days. That state lasted forever. |
| When you fall asleep looking like a sassy pants, you KNOW you've had a fantastic day of nothing but the open road. |
| At least there were pretty sunsets. |
| Deg wanted to eat at a restaurant called BFE. Usually BFE means... well, nothing food related. This time, it meant Best Food Ever. I'd say they were very mediocre, but Deg thought it was funny that we ate in BFE. |
| Toll-Klahoma. Seriously, the entire state is one giant toll road. No wonder it gets hit with so many tornadoes. |
| SO sick of driving! (Don't worry - this is in a restaurant, not in the truck.) |
| Texas |
| After a rest stop, I went to put DJ back in his chair. He REFUSED to sit down - little dude locked his legs and stood in his chair like this for a good 3 minutes before his strength gave out and he was forced to be buckled back in. Resisting oppression at an early age. |
| .... So.... Bored.... |
| This was the view for basically 3 straight days. |
| Ari-Zion-A! We're almost there! |
| Mountains - oh, how I missed you! |
| Finally here, and completely worn out. Sheesh - that was no fun! |
