- Drool alert! Drool alert! Seriously, his little hands are always freezing because they're covered in slime. Plus, the fact that he LOVES blowing raspberries and chewing on everything means he is a fountain. No, he's not teething - he wouldn't be chewing if he was (according to the pediatrician, who has a medical license, so I guess I'll trust him).
- Little man loves to talk. When he gets in a chatty mood, he will talk for 10 minutes straight. It is hilarious to have a "conversation" with him - he loves input from others when he's talking.
- For Halloween, we gave him a giant wooden spoon as a prop, and he loved it. Seriously, it's one of his new favorite toys. I guess this means I should stock up on things like empty cardboard boxes now, huh? Oh, the funny things kids play with.
- Speaking of funny things kids play with... he loves chewing on rags. This is nice, because it mops up the drool as he's producing it. So we've been handing him lots of burp cloths and washcloths lately, which he loves.
- He is a rolling and scooting fool. He loves to roll to his sides and back, and uses this plus pushing his feet to scoot on his back across his play mat, the floor, my bed (with supervision, of course), or wherever. He has rolled from his back to his front a few times and from his front to his back once, but nothing consistent yet.
- He loves to laugh and has the most contagious little giggle. I'll find something that tickles his funnybone and he'll laugh for a good 10 minutes if I keep doing it.
- He loves the song "Royals" by Lourde, but only the Shoe Scene Symphony mix. He loves to have us dance him around to it. He still loves "The Fox" by Ylvis - in fact, more than once, I've sung it to him to calm him down, with great success!
- He's really interested in food. He loves to try to steal my cup and tries to get his hands on our plates. I gave him part of a stalk of celery the other day, and he chewed on that (supervised) for as long as I'd let him. I let him lick any fruits or raw veggies I'm eating, and he loves that. He ate a tiny bit of mashed pear yesterday and seemed to like the flavor. We'll see how that continues.
- He likes to touch faces a lot. He usually does so gently, with the one exception of Deg's nose. I'm pretty sure it's his life goal to rip it off of Deg's face.
- He loves to hold my hand while he's eating. Sometimes, he just wants to stroke my fingers and sometimes he wants to be gripping them. It's super sweet.
- I had to give him a haircut recently. He had a patch of hair on the top of his head that was fully 4 inches long and stood straight up. The rest of his hair is coming in cute and blonde, so we trimmed those back ones to match the rest of what's going down on his head.
- He loves going on walks. He enjoys being in his stroller and experiencing the fresh air.
- He loves people, especially kids. He wants to touch you and hold your hand and love you. Proof: see the post about his cute girlfriend Lia. He's an insufferable flirt!
- He sits like a champ with support and still loves to stand. He is also very content on his play mat. Really, he's just content all the time. It's unusual for him to full-on cry. He's got to have just gotten a shot or something to get to that level.
- Sometimes (like when we're in public) I'll pump and put some milk in a bottle for him. If he gets it that way, he insists on holding the bottle. Since he hasn't got a lot of dexterity, this means he pulls it out of his mouth a lot. I got a bottle with handles, and he LOVES it.
- He hates to nap. I've started just having "quiet time" where I put him in his bassinet when he's sleepy but not falling asleep. This hasn't led to a nap yet, but at least he gets the idea. It never lasts longer than 10 minutes, but we'll get there. And it's necessary, as some days he refuses to nap at all and then I lose my marbles because those are the days I need a nap, of course.
- He thinks my blow dryer is terrifying and my straightener is mesmerizing when watching me get ready for the day.
- He has the longest feet - I had to go buy some 6-12 month socks so he'd have socks that fit. Definitely not a trait he got from his dad!

DJ: 4 Months
Little dude turned 4 months old on Monday. We saw his new pediatrician yesterday, so now I have all his stats to share with you. And, as I'd previously guessed, some of my measurements last month were, well, let's say "special." Also, the doctor didn't give me percentiles, and the internet told me everything from 25% to 94% on his weight, so I'm not going to do percentiles anymore. He's proportional and healthy and that's what matters. So, without further ado, pics and facts from DJ's 4th month of life.
