Deg's grandma passed away just after noon today. Laura Damuck was one of the nicest, most giving people who ever lived. Even though I only knew her once Alzheimer's had taken a great hold on her, I always knew how much she loved her family and how precious they were to her. And you know what? I knew she loved me, too, because her family loves me and she could feel that.
Deg and I are very grateful to know that, thanks to the covenants we have made in the temple, our family will be together forever. The Valentines are looking forward to the time that they can take Laura's name through the temple. My mother in law, Linda, is especially looking forward to sealing her parents and being sealed to them. I am so very glad that those things will be happening in the not-too-distant future. The knowledge that our relationships don't end at death and that we will have our families forever is such a comfort and a blessing every day, but especially today.
