Art Show

On Monday, my fellow teacher Danielle and I put on an art show. We are teaching an Art in the USA class, so we brought in our art to display. The kiddos' job is to categorize us. What art movement do each of us best fit into? It was super cool to bring in some of my textile art and be asked questions as to my intention, inspiration, materials, etc. I wanted to show you the show. Pictures! Yay!

Here's my whole exhibit. Note the two quilts. There's also a huge (22 x 30) frame with an embroidered sign in it. There are 2 other embroidered pieces, a cross stitch, paper flowers, a polymer clay bowl and plate set, and the infamous pillow fight pillows.

A close up of some of the smaller items.

Danielle's stuff. The butchers paper has some really neat ink and kitchen item art on it. She mixes ink with oil, salt, sugar, etc and transfers it to paper. It looks really cool. She also has that big blob, which is a plastic bottle sculpture. The neatest 3D art thing ever? Um, yeah!

Some of her photograms. You take an item, enlarge it, and take a cool picture of it reflected off of something. Lovely!
