Five things you should know about New York

1. New York was the first state to require license plates on cars.
2. Joseph C. Gayetty of New York City invented toilet paper in 1857.
3. Gennaro Lombardi opened the first United States pizzeria in 1895 in New York City.
4. The first capital of the United States was New York City. In 1789 George Washington took his oath as president on the balcony at Federal Hall.
5. My brother Danny will be serving his mission there in the New York New York South mission speaking Spanish from July '10-July'12

Congrats Danny! That sounds like a fun mission! And of course I am partial to Spanish and now you have to endure your Uncle Blake speaking Spanish to you whenever he sees you for the rest of your life.

My dad served in New York! A couple of years ago we went back to see his old mission home...now the Manhattan temple. Weird! He will love it I am sure!
