MA trip

Deg, DJ and I just returned from nearly a week in Massachusetts with the extended Valentine family. We haven't been out there in a year and a half, though we've had almost all of them come visit here, so it was good to get back out there and see everyone. A picture is worth 1000 words, and I took about 5 million, so I will use them to help tell the story of our trip.

DJ and I both learned to shoot a gun. Granted, he had help and I just got laughed at when I literally screamed the first time my .22 went off, but we did both shoot for the first time ever.

Grandpa made a wagon that he hooked to the back of the lawnmower to cart the kids around in. He let the kids drive it, too, which was funny.

DJ and his cousins, Audrey and Bailey, really had fun together. It was so fun to see them playing together and terrorizing one another. DJ got lots of snuggles and hugs, along with lots of wrestling, chasing, pretending, and screaming.

DJ won a football at the local arcade/ice cream location. Best day ever!

We went to a local zoo, where DJ and I rode a camel, we all fed deer by hand, and just generally had a great time seeing all the animals.

Since DJ will be 2 next month (let's not talk about it), we had a little birthday party for The Deej. The kids enjoyed the noise makers, hats, and cake, and we were lucky enough to be able to celebrate him with some very important people.

Deg's parents are getting ready to sell their house, so we went through everything his mom saved of his from his childhood. Most of it was really funny - like old spelling tests and an alarming collection of Freddie Krueger/Jason pictures, and this awesome dino hat.

More hugging and wrestling.

We also went berry picking. DJ didn't get the whole "put the berries in the basket" thing and just ate as he went. It was super funny.

DJ was running like a crazy person and hit his head on a bench because he wasn't watching where he was going. So his cousin Bailey hugged him till he felt better. Precious!
