We had a really fun Memorial Weekend, even though we stuck around the Vegas valley. We ended up doing a few things we'd never done before and had a really great time.
On Saturday, we went bowling at one of the local casinos. If you aren't from the area, you might be surprised to know that casinos aren't just casinos. They have movie theaters, bowling, pool, restaurants, pools... anything to keep you in their doors. That makes life as a local just fantastic - we have so many cool things to do here. So to the casino to the 72 lane bowling alley we went. And DJ loved it. Every time he rolled the ball, he jumped up and down yelling, "Woo hoo!" until it hit the pins. Every time for two whole games. It was adorable. Toward the end of our last game, they switched from normal to cosmic bowling - give that kid some awesome '80s tunes and some black lights, and I can guarantee you a dance party! He was so mad when it was over, but at some point, little boys need dinner and a bath before bedtime, so off we went to Zupa's for some soup (his request) and then to Target for some diapers before heading home. We found one of the carts with buckle seats up front and Deg rode in it with DJ while I tried not to die of embarrassment.

| Uhhhh... ;) |
Then, because this kid needs to fatten up, we force fed him a cupcake. But really, like anyone's gonna complain about that!
After that and a nap for Price Charming, we took a drive out to Lake Las Vegas and rented a pedal boat. Those things are hard to use, but we had fun seeing the fish and the birds and keeping DJ from falling into the water (my sunglasses that Deg insisted DJ wear didn't share the same fate). After the boat ride, Deg taught DJ how to roll down a grass hill, which is an essential little kid activity. We sure have fun together.
