It's the End...

The end of the school year always makes me feel kind of like this:

I mean, it was bad when I was a student, but I feel like it's worse as a teacher. For a teacher, the school year doesn't end when the school year ends. Oh no, we have these fabulous things called "teacher work days" that last far too long. (In reality, we need them, but asking me to be here at the end of the year when school is "done" is rough.) Plus, there's all that wrapping up that has to happen - what with the grading, the organizing, the room cleaning, taking inventory, you get the drift. It's exhausting.

So I'm just going to admit it this year - I am struggling to keep sane through the end of the year. There's a lot going on and I just don't want to do any of it. I feel like I struggle to get the kids to get anything done this time of year and I hate feeling like I'm putting forth more effort than them. I know that I'm not unique in feeling this way, I'm just admitting that I feel this way.

Those of you who are parents - is it bad on that end, too? Do you feel like you have to drag your children into the building each day, or as a parent, are you dreading summer? Those of you who are students - how do you cope this time of year? What helps you get done everything that needs to get done? And those of you who are teachers - any advice??

First, I appreciate you! Second, this mom is also dragging and ready to see the year wrap up already! Third, the kids are mentally done as well. In our house, one kid is finished for the year (and her high school career) so having two more in for another week and a half feels a bit like torture! You are not alone!
