Nativity

I wanted to show off my nativity sets, because, let's be honest, it is the reason for the season.

Nativity #1: I grew up with nativity sets. My mom has one that she toll painted when I was a wee little thing. She then redid that set for many of our neighbors. She now has 2 or three sets that were hand carved int he Philippines (my G&G Bowen served 2 missions there). So this year, I found myself craving a nativity set. I was saddened to see that most places didn't have nativity sets, or if they did, they were very pricey. So I finally found this one, and I do really like it.

Nativity #2: This nativity is carved into a gourd that is more or less the same width as a soda bottle. It was carved and painted by hand by a woman in Peru. This ornament cost me like $9 and by purchasing that, I allowed that woman to feed her family for a week. A touching nativity with a beautiful back-story.
