Let me give you some Kentucky explanation. I mean, two months ago, we were planning on staying here while Deg worked online on his masters, so obviously things have been changing. Let me explain our lives...
So we were planning on doing grad school. We'd been accepted and were working out funding and trying to figure out where we'd live (I'm done with the 45 minute drive to work). Well, it seemed like every time we'd talk about it, we would end up mad at each other. Most of the time, we'd be agreeing with each other, but we'd still end up mad. And it was stressing me out! I mean, here I was, responsible for coming up with $45,000 for tuition plus living expenses. Teachers don't make any money, so I was feeling the pressure. And Deg was having a hard time coming up with the motivation to do 2 more years of school (he's the type of learner who learns by doing, so lecture-centric learning can be more difficult for him). Anyway, we were always grumpy and stressed and, well, if you know me, it will come as no surprise that I was freaking out. So Deg did some in depth research and found no conclusive evidence that he'd make any more money if he did the masters. Plus, everyone in the business he talked to said that human computer interaction was a really horizontal career move and that the jobs just weren't out there for HCI. Plus, after some intense knee time with the big man upstairs, we really felt it would be in our best interest to bag the masters and just start working. To tell you the truth, making the decision to change gears was really hard, but once the decision was made, it immediately felt exactly right.
With that decision made, it was time to vamp up the resume and start the application process. He applied to a few places around here that he found on BYU's recruiting site. And it'd only been a day or two, so we expected a long journey ahead. But then came Richard, Deg's old roommate and good buddy. Literally two days after we'd made the decision, Richard and Deg were chatting online about video games or something of that magnitude when Richard said, "Hey Deg, you should come out here and work with me." Apparently there were a few openings coming up at the factory he works at in Louisville, Kentucky. Deg said that would be cool and that he'd look into it. He mentioned it to me, and we figured we'd take a look at it (I mean, up until now, we had never considered Kentucky). A day or two later, Richard sent Deg a text that said, "So, I talked to the boss man... and he's ready to make an offer." No resume, no interview, nothing. Well, we decided to take all of this seriously, because especially in this economy, jobs can be hard to come by. So the company offered to fly us out there, and off we went. And we loved it! Deg really liked the look and feel of the company, and I loved the area. And it just seemed right. So we prayed about it and still felt good about it, so we decided to go.
This whole experience has been so fast and such a whirlwind, but it has really felt so much more than a coincidence. The last two months have just really reaffirmed to me that God has a plan for us and that He will take care of us if we try to do what's right and follow the Spirit.

Darci has a quote on her blog that says, "If you want to hear God laugh, just tell him your plans." So very true. It is so hard but also so good when things don't end up how you think they will but how the Lord plans them to. It will be an amazing experience and I am excited for you guys!
So yesterday I asked Daphne what she wants to do with her life and she responded, "I guess that's up to God".
Good luck in your new adventure. Let's have a cousin going away party for you. When do you leave?
We start our drive on the 4th of July. Mostly because everyone in Provo will celebrate on Saturday, but being sassy, you could say we're leaving in celebration of our liberation from college. Hmm... I need to work on my sense of humor. Let's for sure all get together before we go - I'm gonna miss all of you, but at least I can still blog stalk you!
