So I've picked up a few crafty hobbies over my lifetime (after all, I am from Idaho/Utah), and I'm thinking of opening my own shop on Etsy. I want to call it Little Venice, hence the blog post name. So I'm gonna see what you all think of this idea. Below are some pictures of what I would currently be making, though more stuff would be forthcoming. After the pictures, I'm going to as for your feedback on a few things. So, on with the show! First, you'll be looking at some watch bands I've made (some of them are similar, but none are the same, so don't be fooled), and then you'll see some magnets I've made.

So, questions:
- Should I make watches according to pre-determined patterns, or should I let my customers request colors so they can have unique, individual watch bands?
- If I go with pre-made watch styles, should I give them cutie names like "Caribbean Breeze" or just go with colors like "blue band."
- On the magnets, should I offer the option of sending me pictures which I could put into the magnets?
- Is this ridiculous, or is this idea actually cool?

Yes, you should make watches, because I want to buy one. You could do options like, 'here are the pre-maid colors, or you make custom your own at an addition cost.' Just my thoughts. Do you know how to make those watches? What do you charge because I've been wanting one.
1. Make both pre-determined patterns and allow for individual designs. Some people don't have an imagination and will want to see it, other will like knowing that they have a one of a kind piece.
2. Love the cutsie names!
3. Once again have some pre-made magnets available but also allow for custom orders.
4. Cool idea. If you enjoy making this stuff anyway you might as well make a little extra money doing it!
I would have some pre-made but leave the option open to custom order. I love naming them cute names. I love etsy and I think you'll do great!
I agree with the others that you should have both ready to ship and custom orders. Let me just tell you that the watch bands are starting to be really popular here though so you'll have competition. Good luck.
