Why am I always full of such drama?

Remember how that one time, Deg and I got married? That was sweet. Well, before that happened, he gave me this ring so we could make things official. If you've been reading along, you'll know this ring has caused me some problems. And by problems, I mean 5 stones falling out of it since I've owned it. In mid July, I went in to the jewelery store to ask a question about some service they were doing, looked down, and gasp, another stone gone! So I tapped my inner Cadence and very classily told them they were going to fix the problem, whatever that took. Well, it turns out, it took melting it down, recasting it, sending it to California for some custom work, and adding lots more metal to make it more sturdy. What can I say? I get what I want (well, sometimes). It is now mid August. And today I got my ring back. It was a long time without it, but from the looks of it, it was well worth it. For starters, the whole thing looks bigger. Not gaudy big, just more... pricey. In fact, they replaced some smaller stones with some slightly larger ones. They added more prong settings to the diamonds in question, the result being not the look of more metal, but the look of more sparkliness. They re-set the center diamond higher, so it looks massive, and all in all, it looks like the ring I originally had but with bigger rocks. Keep in mind, this is all under warranty. This whole mess of repairing it was quite costly. In fact, they scribbled out the price (someone didn't know I didn't have to pay) but I saw through the scribbles. So it turns out it cost them just over $7500.00 to fix this thing. DANG! I've got an expensive bit of precious metal and stone on my hand, and comparatively, we didn't pay anything for it. So, in the end (assuming we're done with the whole losing of my diamonds fiasco), it works out in our favor. Very expensive for them, the sweetest deal EVER for us. I now have a custom ring for a price much lower than most pay for a cast ring that the store had in stock. So, while this does emphasize my apparent magnetism for dramatic events in my life, at this point, I'm totally okay with it. On that note... have a nice day! :)
