I had no idea!

So there's this thing. We'll call it "the rules." They have them at swimming pools for, get this, safety. I know, ridiculous, right? So since they hired me to be a lifeguard, I have to do what's called "enforcing" of the rules. How dare I? Well, apparently this got on one woman's nerves. A lot. See, her children were breaking a rule that says if you're under 9 you have to be with an adult. That's the most heinous, right? I mean, how dare I try to make small children be with their parents so they can be safe. Sheesh! So she decided I needed to know how wrong I was. So, she sees me coming and comes storming towards me, yakking at me the whole way. Did you know that by my enforcing the rules I'm picking on her kids, being rude, and accusing them of being criminals? I'm so glad she told me, because otherwise I would have been mistaken and would have thought I was just doing my job. She wanted to make sure I knew, so made sure I didn't interrupt her as she continued to tell me for 3 minutes before storming off. Good thing she helped me realize my job didn't include enforcing the rules with her kid. Whew! That was a close one!
