Bridal season is well underway, isn't it? It's almost over, seeing as how school starts soon. However, the last dose of weddings is approaching quickly. As our refrigerator gets more and more announcements taken off due to the passing of the wedding date, there is one that remains: my cousin. She gets married in two days, though, so then, our fridge will look naked. However, because she is my cousin, I've been pretty much dazzled by the wedding-ness. For example, yesterday was a bridal shower. Also, anytime the family gets together, it's "wedding this" and "wedding that."
Well, I hate to say it, but I caught the fever, and unfortunately, it can't be satiated by cowbell. With all the wedding-ness going on, it makes me wonder what colors I'd choose, where I'd have my reception, etc. These are, obviously, things that are of no use to me now other than I'm a girl and we do this kind of thing frequently (though I try to avoid it). So after awhile, I tried to think of a way I could still satisfy my sweet-tooth for wedding planning, as it were, but avoid the appearance of actually getting married. And I found the best thing ever.
I want to have a pirate-themed wedding.
Everyone will be required to dress up, and the groom will go as the captain and I as some saucy wench. I'll have it on an old boat in a harbor somewhere and people will get drunk on rum and go around making the other guests walk the plank. But that's just the beginning. The possibilities are endless! I think I'll need to lose a few teeth before the reception and make sure my groom grows his hair and beard out nasticiously long. (I just made up a word, by the way.) Instead of groomsmen and bridesmaids, we'll have deckhands. I hope there's a mutiny and that cannons are fired and swashes are buckled. Oh man, I've never wanted to get married so bad as right now, just for the simple fact that I could have a pirate wedding. Yearrrrgh! Methinks this be a grand idea. Shiver me timbers!

The best reception i ever went to was one in which it was a King Arthur type reception. Everyone was in medival garb, it was awesome. The bride and groom were king and queen and sat in thrones for the procession of greeting people. Genius. The best part was when we decided to take the crown from off the king's head, we ran up and snatched it and ran off, but he had his friends being gaurds so the gaurds ran after us and caught us and brought us before the king. Themed receptions are grand.
