So I have decided that in order to fully integrate myself into the technologically advanced world that I live in, I should create a blog. I have no idea who will read it. I have no idea how often I'll post. I have no idea what I'm doing.
Meanwhile, I must indeed give props to the English Education department. In order to graduate from this program, one is requried to student teach. However, my assignment for student teaching got changed last minute, and as a result, I totally freaked out all over the place. Indeed my friends, tears were shed, lives were changed, and, in a manner of speaking, hearts were touched.
After a major freaking out session, I called so many people it's not even funny and sent emails like the internet would explode if I didn't. By the next day, all I'd accomplished was several email explanations and several "you'll feel better about it later"s and was resigned to the fact that I'd be stuck teaching (get this) six 8th grade remedial classes rather than the 6 regular English classes I was to earlier teach. (This is where you feel bad for me.)
Today, I opened my email to find several from my department head, cooperating teachers, current teachers, etc. To my great surprise and joy, I will now be split between two classrooms teaching 3 remedial classes and 3 regular classes. This is the best of both worlds because of the following reasons:
*I get to have experience with remedial, which is awesome when trying to get a job
*I don't have to spend all my time with remedial, because, let's be honest, that would just be painful
*I get to work with two teachers which equals awesome experience, observations, and recommendations
*I get to stay with my teacher I've already been working on and I absolutely love her!
The moral of the story is that Dr. Chris Crowe is pretty much the man and that teachers at college really do care about the well-being of their students. Yay!
And there you have it, folks. Blog one. This whole thing is quite cathartic and I believe I will like this whole blogging thing. Get excited for more of these...
